We want inside your head!

May 28, 2008

The San Francisco Chronicle reported today that pharmacies in California would be allowed to sell confidential patient prescription information to third-party marketing firms working for drug companies under a bill expected to be voted on Thursday by the state Senate. The supposed intention is to serve as a reminder service for forgetful patients, but physicians and politicians alike view this as a ploy by Big Brother Pharma to gain access to data that could prove helpful in targeted marketing campaigns.

Although I doubt the Senate will pass this this somewhat callous legislation, it simply shows another mechanism by which “pharmites” will try their damnedest to get access to what is supposedly a private matter. Stay Tuned for the next back-door charade!

As a young executive in the pharmaceutical industry, my goal for this blog is to present a modern viewpoint on past, current, and future trends in pharmceutical marketing. This blog is a learning experience. One I hope leads me to strethen my knowledge in pursuit of some lofty personal goals.
